Zipline in Antalya: Köprülü Canyon Tours, Age Limits and What to Expect

Where to go ziplining near Antalya: Köprülü Canyon combo tours from Antalya, Side, Alanya and Kemer, what the zipline is like, age limits and what to bring.

6 min read

The zipline trips offered around Antalya take place in Köprülü Canyon National Park, inland in the Taurus Mountains, where the Köprüçay River runs through a steep, pine-covered gorge. The zipline is not usually sold on its own. It comes as part of an adventure combo day that also includes white-water rafting and an off-road buggy or jeep safari, with lunch and hotel transfers from Antalya, Side, Alanya or Kemer.

This guide explains what the zipline is like, which tours include it from each resort, age limits, what to bring and how the day works.

What Is the Zipline Like?

The zipline is a steel cable strung across the valley above the Köprüçay River. You wear a harness and helmet, staff check your equipment and clip you in, and you glide from the launch platform to the other side while taking in the view down the canyon. One Alanya programme describes about 600 metres of line.

It is the shortest activity of the day: the flight itself is over in moments, and several reviewers say so. On most tours it comes at the end of the programme, after rafting and the off-road ride. Think of it as a highlight of an adventure day rather than a half-day activity of its own.

What Else Is on a Zipline Combo Day?

  • White-water rafting: paddling down the Köprüçay River in an inflatable raft with an instructor. Several programmes list a route of about 14 km. No experience is needed. Read our Köprülü Canyon rafting guide for more on the river and what to expect.

  • Buggy or ATV safari: driving on forest tracks and village roads above the canyon, usually two people sharing a buggy. On the family tour from Side, adults drive and children ride as passengers.

  • Jeep safari: an open jeep ride on mountain roads with stops at viewpoints and old stone bridges.

  • Lunch: a riverside meal, often a buffet, between activities.

All of them include return hotel transfers, guides, safety equipment and lunch, and you pay on the day. "Children from" is the youngest age in each tour's child price band; it is not a guarantee that every activity is open to that age, so check with the operator if you are travelling with young children.

Age, Weight and Safety

  • Age: the minimum age varies by tour, from 4 to 6 years. The Side family tour is designed for younger children, with gentler rafting and children riding as passengers on the buggy.

  • Weight and health: the listings do not publish weight limits for the zipline. If you are concerned about weight, a heart or back condition, or pregnancy, ask the operator before you book.

  • Equipment: harnesses, helmets and life jackets are provided and fitted by staff. Follow the instructors' briefings for every activity.

  • Insurance: most of these tours list insurance as included.

How the Day Works

  • Early pickup: the time on the listing (usually 10:00, or 08:00 for the Side adrenaline combo) is when activities start in the canyon. Hotel pickup is earlier; one reviewer from Antalya was collected at 07:40 for a 10:00 start. Your exact time is confirmed after booking.

  • The drive: the canyon is inland, so allow for a long transfer each way, especially from Alanya, where the listed day is about 10 hours.

  • The order: it varies, but the zipline often comes last, after rafting and the off-road ride.

What to Bring

  • Swimwear under your clothes, and a change of dry clothes and a towel

  • Shoes that can get wet and stay on your feet; water shoes are often not included and are rented on site

  • Sunscreen and a hat

  • Clothes you don't mind getting dusty for the buggy, and sunglasses or goggles

  • Cash for drinks, photos and any rentals

  • A waterproof pouch for your phone, or leave valuables at the hotel

Tips

  • Photos cost extra. If you want pictures of your zipline flight, expect to buy them on site; phones are usually not practical on the rafting section.

  • Choose by time and energy. The 6- and 7-hour programmes are easier with children; the longer ones from Alanya pack in the most.

  • Check what "buggy" means on your tour, whether you drive or ride as a passenger, and whether you share.

Not on Maxtoria at the time of writing. The zipline is included in combo tours with rafting and a buggy or jeep safari.
