Köprülü Canyon is the best-known place for white-water rafting on the Turkish Riviera, and a popular full-day adventure from Alanya. The Köprüçay River runs between steep canyon walls and pine forest in Köprülü Canyon National Park, and no previous experience is needed to raft it with a guide. Most tours from Alanya combine rafting with a jeep safari, a buggy ride and a zipline, so it is a long but active day.

What Is Köprülü Canyon?
Köprülü Canyon is a national park in the Taurus Mountains, inland from Side and Manavgat. The Köprüçay River has cut a deep gorge through the rock, and its fast, clear water makes it the region's main rafting river. Beyond the rafting base, the park includes the Roman-era Oluk Bridge, which still crosses the river, and, higher up, Tazı Canyon's viewpoints and the ruins of the ancient city of Selge. These are separate visits and not usually part of a rafting tour.
How a Rafting Day from Alanya Works
The two Alanya rafting tours on Maxtoria follow a similar programme. The order of the activities can change on the day.
Hotel Pickup and the Drive
You are picked up from your hotel in the Alanya area early in the morning; the exact time is confirmed after booking and depends on where you are staying. The drive to the canyon base takes about two hours, along the coast and then inland into the mountains.
Jeep Safari and Buggy
Before or after lunch, you'll do a jeep safari of about 45 minutes on forest and river tracks, and around 45 minutes of buggy driving on dirt and muddy trails. Expect to get dusty and wet.
Lunch at the Riverside Base
Lunch is served at the base camp by the river, with about an hour to eat and rest before the rafting.
Rafting on the Köprüçay River
You'll get a helmet, life jacket and paddle, and a safety briefing before you set off. Each boat has its own licensed rafting guide, who steers and tells you when to paddle. You spend about two hours on the river, paddling through rapids and calmer stretches between the canyon walls.
Zipline
The day ends with a zipline flight of about 30 minutes in total. On one tour, the line is around 600 metres long over the gorge.
Return to Alanya
The activities finish in the late afternoon, and the return transfer takes about three hours including drop-offs, so you are usually back at your hotel in the evening.
Which Alanya Rafting Tour Should You Choose?
Both tours combine the same four activities with lunch and hotel transfers from the Alanya area:
Alanya 4-in-1 rafting combo: jeep safari, buggy driving, about 13 km of rafting and a zipline, with pickup at around 08:00 and activities ending at around 16:00–16:30. A good-value choice if you want the full combo in one booking.
Alanya extreme rafting, jeep, buggy and zipline: the same structure with a more adventurous focus: a jeep safari through water crossings, a muddy buggy route and a zipline of about 600 metres over the gorge.
Guiding on both is available in English, Turkish, Russian and German. Compare current options and prices in our Alanya rafting and combo tours.
