What follows is a pilot-steered ride on warm coastal air with Alanya Castle, the Taurus Mountains and the turquoise bay spread out beneath your feet, ending with a landing on the sand of Cleopatra Beach.

Gearing Up at the Flight Base

Your adventure picks up speed at the flight base, where the crew checks your weight and matches you with a pilot whose wing is rated for your load. It is a quick and practical stop, yet it is also the moment the nerves start buzzing, because the mountain you are about to launch from is already rising on the horizon.

The Climb to the 700 m Launch Ridge

From the base, a vehicle takes you up the winding mountain road to Yassı Tepe in the Taurus range. Every bend lifts you higher above the rooftops of Alanya, and by the time you step out at the launch ridge the whole coastline looks like a map laid out for your flight.

Harness Locked and Wind Checked

At the top, your pilot fits your harness and safety gear and explains exactly what to do: run hard on the signal, keep running until your feet leave the ground and sit back once you are airborne. The crew watches the wind closely and sends the tandem pairs off one after another, so at busy times you may wait a little while other wings lift off in front of you.

A Few Strides into Open Sky

The wing snaps open overhead, the lines tighten and, after a short sprint down the slope, there is suddenly nothing beneath you but air. That first second of lift is the peak adrenaline hit of the day, and it arrives before you have time to think twice.

Carving Thermals above the Castle

Once you are clear of the ridge, your pilot works the rising air to keep you aloft for roughly 15 to 25 minutes, depending on the wind. You glide past the peninsula crowned by Alanya Castle, look down on the harbour and the long curve of the coast and feel the breeze pressing against your face. If conditions are steady and you want more action, ask your pilot about a few sharper turns; the pilot alone decides whether they are safe on the day.

Touchdown on Cleopatra Sand

The descent ends with a controlled landing on Cleopatra Beach, one of the best-known stretches of sand on the Turkish Riviera. Follow your pilot's landing call, unclip and let the adrenaline settle while the team packs up the wing. Photos and videos of your flight can be viewed and bought here as an optional extra.

Who Can Take to the Sky

No experience is needed, but a few rules keep every flight safe. Passengers should generally weigh between 25 and 110 kg, and the minimum age is 10. Flying is not possible during pregnancy, and anyone with heart problems, epilepsy or serious back or breathing conditions should talk to the team before booking. Closed sports shoes are essential for the takeoff run.

Pickup happens earlier and runs on the hour between 10:00 and 16:00, and your exact pickup time is confirmed after your reservation because it depends on where your hotel is. The activity closes according to the session you booked; drop-off follows afterwards and varies with traffic and hotel location. Paragliding depends entirely on the wind, so if conditions are unsafe your flight is rescheduled or cancelled free of charge.
