About this activity
Side Quad and Buggy Safari Through Forest, Mud and Stone
Somewhere behind the resort strip of Side, the asphalt gives way to red earth, pine needles and puddles deep enough to swallow a wheel. This Side quad and buggy safari takes you straight there. A minibus collects you from your hotel, the crew hands you a helmet, and within minutes you are part of a convoy growling into the countryside. Two hours later you come back dusty, very probably dripping, and grinning from ear to ear.
Pick Your Ride at Base Camp
The choice happens at the camp. A quad puts you behind handlebars, and every bump on the trail travels straight up your arms. A buggy gives you a steering wheel, an automatic gearbox and a protective roll cage, and it seats two, so couples and friends can share the drive. Larger families can ask for the family buggy, which carries three to four people. Every vehicle follows the same track, which means nobody in your group misses a single corner.
A Short Lesson Before the Throttle
No licence and no previous experience are needed. Instructors walk you through the controls, explain the hand signals used in the convoy and set the rules for spacing on the trail. You then complete a practice loop on flat ground to get comfortable with the throttle and brakes before the real terrain begins. Helmets are fitted here and stay on until the ride is over.
Pine Shade and Open Stretches
The first leg follows compacted dirt roads beneath the pines. It is the smoothest part of the course, with long straights where you can pick up pace and wide bends where the convoy stretches out. Resin-scented air, dappled light and the steady rumble of engines make this the section many riders remember most fondly.
A Pause in the Clearing
Midway through, the group halts in an open glade. Climb off, stretch your legs, take a sip of the water you brought along and pose with your machine against the forest backdrop. The camp photographers usually work at this stop, and their pictures can be bought separately at the end if you want them.
Where the Trail Bites Back
The second half is rougher by design. Water crossings throw spray in every direction, mud pools grip the tyres and short rocky climbs test the suspension. Guides ride at both ends of the convoy to keep everyone together, so beginners can take it steady while confident drivers still get their fill of adrenaline. Expect to finish with mud up to your shoulders.
Showers and the Road Back
The trail loops back to camp, where showers and changing cabins let you rinse off the worst before boarding the minibus. A towel and a change of clothes in your bag will make the ride back to your hotel far more pleasant.
Pickup Times and Practical Details
The session times shown on this page are activity start times, not pickup times. Your hotel pickup happens earlier, and the exact time is shared with you after the reservation is confirmed because it depends on where your hotel is located. Likewise, the finish time marks the end of the ride itself; drop-off follows afterwards and varies with traffic and hotel location. The price covers return transfer from Side area hotels, your quad or buggy, a helmet and safety gear, activity insurance and professional off-road guides. Food, drinks, goggles, bandanas and photos are not included.
