From 10:00 to 15:00 a dive boat takes you out of Kemer Marina to two sheltered bays on the Kiriş coast where certified instructors guide you through two separate dives. From Marina Gate to Open Water

The activity starts at 10:00 at Kemer Marina. After a quick check-in you step aboard the dive boat and settle on deck while it heads south along the pine-covered shoreline. The first bay is only about twenty minutes away so the sea breeze has barely dried your face before the anchor drops.

The whole programme on the water lasts five hours and the boat is back at the marina at 15:00.

Learning to Breathe Beneath the Surface

Before anyone gets wet the instructors run a relaxed lesson on deck. You fill in a short health form and then learn how the regulator and mask work and how to clear water from the mask. They also cover the hand signals used underwater and how to equalise the pressure in your ears as you descend. Wetsuit tank and weights are fitted and checked for you and nobody enters the sea until they feel ready.

A First Glimpse Inside Aquarium Bay

Aquarium Bay earns its name from water so clear that you can often see the rocks below from the boat. It is one of the most popular beginner sites around Kemer because it is calm and shallow near the shore. Your instructor stays right beside you and controls the depth while you watch bream and wrasse and damselfish drift between the rocks. Octopus and moray eels also live in these crevices for those with sharp eyes.

Sunshine and a Hearty Plate on Deck

Back on board there is time to warm up in the sun before lunch is served on deck. The meal is included in your ticket while drinks are sold separately at the boat bar. Most guests use this pause to swap first impressions and look through the underwater photos taken by the crew.

Arches and Grottoes of the Cave Bay

A short sail brings the boat to the Cave Bay which is named after the small caves in its cliffs that are half filled with air and half with sea. Sheltered from the wind it is a favourite second site for beginners. Now that the breathing feels familiar the second dive is calmer and you have more time to follow the rock formations and the fish that gather in their shade.

Slow Hours Between Sea and Sky

While the rest of the group finishes diving you are free to jump off the boat for a swim or snorkel along the rocks. You can also stretch out on the sun deck with the Taurus Mountains rising behind the bay. Guests who would rather not dive can come along and enjoy the boat trip in exactly this way.

Is This Dive Right for You

No certificate and no earlier dive experience are needed. Diving is open to guests aged 12 and over and an instructor stays with you throughout so strong swimming skills are not required. Diving is not suitable for pregnant guests or for anyone with a heart condition or breathing problem. Please avoid flying for 24 hours after your dives.

10:00 is the time the activity starts at the marina and not the time you are collected. Your hotel pickup takes place earlier and the exact time is confirmed after your reservation because it depends on where your hotel is. 15:00 is the time the activity ends and the drive back to your hotel follows after that so your drop-off time depends on traffic and your hotel location.
