One day in Antalya is enough to see the city's three classic sights: the old town of Kaleiçi, Düden Waterfall pouring into the sea, and the long seafront at Konyaaltı. You can do it on your own by taxi, tram and on foot, or join a guided city tour with hotel transfers. If you'd rather spend your one day outside the city, Antalya is also the starting point for boat trips, ancient-site tours and canyon adventures.
This guide gives you a realistic self-guided itinerary for one day in Antalya, the best guided day tours, and help choosing the right plan for your interests and where you are staying.

A Self-Guided One-Day Itinerary for Antalya City
This route covers the city's main sights in a logical order. Kaleiçi and the harbour are walkable; for Düden Waterfall and Konyaaltı, use a taxi, bus or tram. Allow a full day, from about 9:00 until sunset.
Morning: Hadrian's Gate and Kaleiçi
Start at Hadrian's Gate, the triple-arched Roman gate built in AD 130 for Emperor Hadrian's visit. It marks the entrance to Kaleiçi, Antalya's old town. Spend the morning wandering its narrow stone streets, Ottoman houses with wooden bay windows, and quiet courtyards. There is no need for a fixed route: the lanes all lead downhill towards the harbour. Mornings are cooler and quieter, which is the best time for photos.
Late Morning: Old Harbour, Yivli Minaret and the Clock Tower
Walk down to the Old Harbour, where excursion boats and fishing boats sit below the old city walls. Then climb back up to Republic Square to see the Clock Tower and the fluted Yivli Minaret, one of the city's best-known landmarks. Together they show the Roman, Seljuk and Ottoman layers of Antalya's history in a short walk.
Lunch: Kaleiçi or the Harbour
Kaleiçi and the harbour have plenty of cafés and restaurants. Prices are higher by the water; a few streets back you'll find simpler Turkish food at lower prices.
Early Afternoon: Hıdırlık Tower and Karaalioğlu Park
After lunch, walk to Hıdırlık Tower, a Roman-era tower at the edge of Kaleiçi above the cliffs, and continue into Karaalioğlu Park, with shaded paths and viewpoints over the sea. It is a good place to rest before heading out of the old town.
Afternoon: Lower Düden Waterfall
Take a taxi or bus east to Lara to see Lower Düden Waterfall, where the Düden River falls from the cliffs straight into the Mediterranean. The viewpoints in Düden Park are right above the falls. Allow about an hour. If you have extra time, Upper Düden Waterfall is inland in a shaded park, a different setting with walking paths.
Sunset: Konyaaltı Beach
End the day on the west side of the city at Konyaaltı Beach, a long pebble beach with a seafront promenade, cafés and a view of the Taurus Mountains. Swim if the season allows, or simply walk the promenade and watch the sun go down. Weather permitting, the cable car at Tünektepe, west of Konyaaltı, gives a wide view over the city and the coast.
Evening: Dinner and Nightlife
For dinner, head back to Kaleiçi and the harbour, which are lively after dark. If you want to go out, our guide to Antalya nightlife covers the best bars and live music venues.
Prefer a Guided Day? The Antalya City Tour
If you'd rather not arrange taxis and tickets yourself, the Antalya full-day city tour with waterfalls, boat trip and lunch covers the same highlights in one organised day of about 8–9 hours. The programme includes:
Lower Düden Waterfall and Upper Düden Waterfall Park (Düden entrance included)
Lunch at a local restaurant in Konyaaltı
An optional cable car ride, depending on the weather
A guided walk through Kaleiçi and Hadrian's Gate, with free time for shopping
An optional boat trip from the harbour
Hotel transfers are included from Antalya, Kemer, Belek and surrounding areas; drinks and personal expenses are extra. For other versions, see all Antalya city tours.
Other Ways to Spend One Day from Antalya
If you have already seen the city, or you're staying in a resort outside it, these one-day tours take you further. All the options below include hotel transfers.
A Boat Trip to Düden Waterfall
Seeing Lower Düden Waterfall from the sea is quite different from seeing it from the park above. The Antalya relax boat trip is a quieter cruise with swimming breaks, a barbecue lunch on board and free soft drinks. With children, the Antalya pirate boat trip leaves from Kundu pier on the Aksu River, stops below the waterfall, and adds swimming breaks, lunch, an animation show and a foam party, from about 10:00 to 16:00. Compare all Antalya boat tours.
Aspendos and Side: A History Day
East of the city, Aspendos has one of the best-preserved Roman theatres anywhere, and the ancient city of Side combines ruins with a seafront town and the Temple of Apollo. Guided Aspendos and Side day trips usually add Manavgat Waterfall. If you are driving, you can add Perge, closer to Antalya, with its colonnaded street and Roman gates; check which parts are open, as its theatre has been closed for restoration. See our guide to the best places to visit in Antalya for more on each site.
Köprülü Canyon: An Adventure Day
Köprülü Canyon is Antalya's best-known place for rafting. The Köprülü Canyon rafting, buggy safari and zipline tour combines rafting, a buggy safari, a zipline and a cabrio safari with lunch and all rafting equipment. Rafting shoes, drinks and photos are extra. Browse more rafting and combo tours.
Green Canyon: A Calm Nature Day
For a slower day, a Green Canyon boat tour cruises the green waters of a lake between forested cliffs near Manavgat, with swimming breaks and an open-buffet lunch. It is a good choice in the hottest months and for families.
Demre, Myra and Kekova: The Lycian Coast
This is a long but rewarding day west of Antalya. The Demre, Myra and Kekova boat tour starts with a drive of about two hours, then visits the rock tombs of Myra, St Nicholas Church, and a boat trip of about two hours around Kekova and its sunken ruins. Lunch is included; entrance fees for the historical sites are not. See other Demre, Myra and Kekova tours.
A Family Day: Aquarium or The Land of Legends
With children, or on a very hot or rainy day, Antalya Aquarium tickets with hotel transfer are an easy indoor option near Konyaaltı. For a full day of rides, water slides and shows, The Land of Legends theme park day trip includes your entrance ticket; food and drinks are extra. Read more about what to do at The Land of Legends.
Too Far for a Relaxed Day: Pamukkale
Pamukkale day tours from Antalya are possible but long, with very early departures and a late return. They suit travellers who won't be able to visit Pamukkale on another trip. If you only have one free day, a destination closer to Antalya will feel less rushed.

Tips for Your Day in Antalya
Start early: in summer, visit Kaleiçi and outdoor sites in the morning and save the hottest hours for the sea, a boat or indoor sights.
Wear comfortable shoes: Kaleiçi's streets are stone and sloping, and ancient sites are uneven.
Check opening times: museums, archaeological sites, the cable car and boat trips can change schedules with the season, maintenance or weather. At the time of writing, Antalya Museum was listed as closed to visitors.
Group sights by area: Düden is east of the centre in Lara and Konyaaltı is west, so plan them in one direction rather than going back and forth.
Dress respectfully if you enter a mosque: cover shoulders and knees, and women should cover their hair.
Bring water, a hat and sunscreen, especially from June to September. Our guide to the best time to visit Antalya covers the weather month by month.

Frequently Asked Questions About One Day in Antalya
Is one day enough in Antalya?
One day is enough to see the city's highlights: Kaleiçi, Hadrian's Gate, the Old Harbour, Düden Waterfall and Konyaaltı. To also visit ancient sites, canyons or the Lycian coast, you need at least two or three days.
What is the best one-day tour from Antalya?
For first-time visitors, a city tour covering Düden Waterfall, Kaleiçi and a boat trip is the most complete overview. For history, choose Aspendos and Side; for adventure, Köprülü Canyon; and for a calm day, Green Canyon or a boat trip.
Can I see Kaleiçi and Düden Waterfall on the same day?
Yes. Explore Kaleiçi in the morning, then take a taxi or bus to Lower Düden Waterfall in Lara in the afternoon. The waterfall visit takes about an hour.
How much time do I need in Kaleiçi?
Allow three to four hours to walk the old town, see Hadrian's Gate, the Old Harbour and Hıdırlık Tower, and stop for a coffee or lunch.
Can I explore Antalya in one day without a car?
Yes. Kaleiçi and the harbour are walkable, and Düden Waterfall and Konyaaltı are easy to reach by taxi or public transport. A guided city tour with hotel transfers is the easiest option if you are staying outside the centre.
What can I do in Antalya in one day in winter?
Winter is a good time for sightseeing: Kaleiçi, Düden Waterfall and ancient sites such as Aspendos and Side are quieter and cooler. Some boat trips and outdoor activities run less often, so check schedules first.
Is Düden Waterfall worth visiting?
Yes. Lower Düden is one of the few places where a waterfall drops directly into the sea. You can see it from the viewpoints in Düden Park or from a boat below the cliffs.
